We want everyone to understand how loving someone with PTSD
changes your life.
Every story is deeply personal, and we want to hear yours.
We are traveling around the country for the next six months interviewing and photographing people whose lives have been touched by PTSD. The first step is to set up a time and place (of your choice) for Amanda to come talk with you. She'll make a portrait and conduct a short audio interview. The images and interviews will live on this website and become a traveling exhibition once the project is complete.
Many of these stories will become a part of "What Doesn't Kill You," the film co-directed by Rob and Amanda. Because of the time commitment involved and the level of participation required, certain stories will be better suited to still images and others to film.
Getting involved with the film is a big commitment on the part of the families telling their stories and we want to make sure that everyone feels comfortable with the process. Rob and Amanda work in a documentary tradition where we spend days with the people in their stories. We believe that true stories are the most compelling, and we are completely dedicated to making a film that does justice to the complicated, messy, difficult and sometimes beautiful parts of life.
we want to hear from you
You can email Amanda at amanda@ptsdmovie.com.
If you want to talk, her cell phone number is 971-235-1581.
Amanda lives in Oregon but travels around the country regularly, and would love to come meet you. Telling the stories of military families with loved ones with PTSD is her full-time job.
Spread the Word
This is a password protected site until all the interviews are completed and we know that publishing them will be safe for everyone. You're seeing this page because you were specifically invited, and we would love it if you would share with friends and family you know are dealing with the same issues. We believe that sharing your story will make a big impact.
Please encourage others to do the same!
